  1. Of course, we don’t want to implement “PHP written in XML”. Idea is to have high-level extensible declarative (XML or similar) format for tests. Similar to some declarations we already have in M2. It will allow extension developers to reduce test duplication and extension test conflicts.

    I agree that this is not an easy task. But if we want to solve the test extensibility problem, we will have to use declarative tests in some form.
